Do I need book before the tour?
  • Yes, you need to have the tour booked and paid for in advance.
How much walking is involved?
  • The walking tour lasts over 90 minutes and there is a good bit of walking but at a casual pace.
  • The food lasts for 3 hours approx. similar amount of walking but a casual pace.
Are the tours appropriate for Children?
  • The tour is designed for adults, so 90 minutes of history and walking, a child is likely to get bored. We do welcome small children in buggies or strollers.
  • The food tour is designed with adults in mind.
Do you cater for dietary and allergy restrictions?
  • Yes, we can cater for dietary requirements, please inform us when booking the tour.
  • There are no vegan options available.
What happens if I arrive late for the tour?
  • Unfortunately we cannot delay the tour, we wait a few minutes but then we have to move on. No refunds given for missed tour. A reminder is sent out the previous week regarding your tour.
  • Please arrive at least 5 minutes prior to the start of the tour.
Are tours wheelchair accessible?
  • Please make contact with us before you make your booking.
How many people on a tour?
  • The maximum on tour will be 12 people for both walking and food tours.
How long does the walking tour last?
  • The walking tour lasts for 90 minutes.
Are tours offered in other languages?
  • Our tours are only in English.
What happens if there's bad weather?
  • This is Ireland and it rains a bit, the tour will always go ahead unless there is an official orange or red weather warning. Dress for the weather bring rain jacket, umbrella, sun cream etc.
Can you book a private tour?
  • Yes we can facilitate a private tours, please contact us directly by email at tourandtastegalway@gmail.com
Is there a booking fee?
  • We don't charge a booking fee.
What is the cancelation policy?
  • Bookings can be cancelled up to 24 hours prior to the tour and are fully refundable, or you can be rebooked on another tour.
Can I tip the tour guide?
  • Yes you can give your tour guide a tip. 
Where do the tours depart from?
  • Walking tour leaves from Eyre Square outside St. Columba's Credit Union (Pedestrian side of Eyre Sq.) beside The Skeffington Arms Hotel/Gatto Rosso Pizzeria.
  • The food tour leaves from Quay Lane (End of Quay St.) across the road from the Spanish Arch outside Weavers of Ireland.
